PEOPLE & PLACE
Welcome to Turkey
During our Turkey CME Cultural Tour we will have the chance to visit the stunning monuments that these civilizations left behind and also explore the vibrant, contemporary culture of this moderate Muslim nation. Above in the detailed trip itinerary, you will find exactly where we go, what we see, what we do and where we stay.
Istanbul, where continents collide and history whispers from every corner, stands as a captivating testament to the myriad civilizations that have called this city home. From the majestic Hagia Sophia, a marvel of Byzantine architecture, to the resplendent Blue Mosque, adorned with its intricate Iznik tiles, Istanbul’s rich tapestry of history and culture is unrivaled. Wander through the labyrinthine alleys of the Grand Bazaar, a kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and sounds, offering everything from handwoven rugs to aromatic spices. The Bosphorus Strait, offers breathtaking views of Istanbul’s skyline, dotted with minarets and palaces. Istanbul is not merely a city; it’s an experience, a place where every moment is steeped in history and every corner tells a story.
Cappadocia, a dreamlike landscape in the heart of Turkey. This enchanting region is famed for its whimsical fairy chimneys, vast underground cities, and ancient cave churches adorned with age-old frescoes. Imagine drifting over the soft volcanic rock formations in a hot air balloon as the sunrise paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, a moment of serenity unmatched anywhere else on earth. The rich history of Cappadocia, inhabited since ancient times, is palpable in every troglodyte village and winding path through its valleys. Whether you’re exploring the open-air museums, savoring the local Anatolian cuisine, or simply soaking in the views from a deluxe cave hotel, Cappadocia is an incredible destination and a highlight of our Turkey CME Cultural Tour. We will enjoy 2 full days of hiking and exploring this incredible region.
Ephesus is considered to be the best preserved Roman city left on our planet. It has been carefully restored to much of its past glory. It was an extremely important city at the time of Christ as many of his apostles spent years living here after his death. We will begin touring it in the afternoon and then proceed to our lovely seaside hotel at Kusadasi. It is set right on the water and you can take a swim in the sea right off its deck. It boasts lovely grounds, a large pool and an excellent restaurant. It will be our home for three nights during our Turkey CME Cultural Tour as we explore this fascinating area.
