Location

Estancia Ranquilco is a family-owned 100,000 acre working ranch and vacation destination nestled in the Andean foothills of Northern Patagonia. A refuge in deep nature, guests from across the globe come to experience miles of unfenced horseback riding, world class fly fishing, and an opportunity to deeply reset away from the modern world.

The ranch is remote and vast, stretching across leagues of high steppe, river valleys, meadows, and jagged cliffs into the heart of the Argentine cordillera. It is a place where cultures meet – where guests interact not only with the Estancia family, but also with local Argentines and a diverse group of international staff. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and personal, making every guest feel welcomed and cared for as if with family.

Cuisine & Accomodations

Food is an integral part of the guest experience at Estancia Ranquilco; whether at the lodge or on the trail, meals are always fresh, diverse and creative. Meals are composed of abundant garden vegetables and homegrown meat. Bread is baked daily. Beer and wine are included.
The Ranch is happy to accommodate dietary needs or food allergies with prior planning.
Lodging: Accommodations at Ranquilco are best described as rustic ranch elegance.
Built in 1980 using many locally harvested materials, the rooms are spacious and unique with antique furnishings and ensuite bathrooms.  Perched above the Rio Trocoman, the lodge offers a peaceful refuge with incredible stargazing and sounds of the river below.
Sustainable Living: The eco-lodge is dedicated to minimizing impact through practices in self-sufficiency. They grow much of their own food in a large organic garden and raise their own grass-fed meats. The electricity is produced onsite by hydroturbines, hot water is generated by fire, and most of the transportation is via horse. Ranquilco is a living example of large-scale ranch-style homesteading.

“This place is totally unique – huge and utterly beautiful landscapes, well trained horses and interesting, gentle people make this place so special. Cut off from the world, Ranquilco exists in its own time without distractions of modern life. I loved every minute of my week on the ranch and was cared for by lovely staff, volunteers and the generous-spirited owners.”
