TRAVEL PROTECTION/INSURANCE WAIVER

Med Treks International, LLC, (“MedTreks”) strongly recommends the purchase of travel protection/insurance with additional “Cancel For Any Reason” coverage to protect you from the many issues that might prevent a travel supplier (e.g., hotel or other accommodation provider, or transportation providers) from completely providing their services to you (including the potential of financial default or bankruptcy). Such coverage should include Trip Cancellation or Interruption, Medical Expenses, Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, and Baggage with emergency medical coverage of at least $15,000 and medical evacuation/repatriation coverage of at least $100,000 to participate in this trip. Travel protection insurance plans can help protect you in the event of loss of NON-REFUNDABLE trip deposit and payments that result from cancellation or trip interruption (due to a covered reason such as injury or illness before or during the journey). It also helps with reimbursement for medical emergency costs (including very costly evacuation costs), missed connections and baggage delays/loss. 

Travel protection insurance is NOT included in your booking. MedTreks has offered travel insurance options for you to choose from, however, we are not liable for any issues that result with said travel insurance options.  In addition, we are not licensed insurance agents, and we recommend that you contact your insurance agent or broker to discuss the insurance policies that are available. If you do not elect to purchase travel insurance/trip protection, you understand that you are responsible for all charges, costs, damages, losses and expenses, regardless of the reason.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are advised that you need to purchase the appropriate protection/insurance from your insurer within a certain number of days from the deposit being paid in order to avoid waiving any pre-existing medical condition. The timeframe is imposed by the travel insurance company and is typically 7 to 14 days.

AT THE TIME OF FIRST PAYMENT:

• I have been advised of the deposit and cancellation policies for my purchase and have been   provided with MedTreks’ Terms and Conditions. I acknowledge receipt of, and my agreement with, MedTreks’ Terms & Conditions.

• I understand my booking with MedTreks does NOT include travel protection/insurance and any payments made to third-party suppliers may be NON-REFUNDABLE, and all payments made to MedTreks are NON-REFUNDABLE as described in the Terms and Conditions. 

• I understand that travel insurance can protect me from possible loss of monies due to supplier bankruptcy/default, unexpected trip cancellation/interruption due to accident, sickness or death, baggage loss, medical expenses, and emergency air transportation costs that other insurance policies and credit card programs may not cover.

• I understand that I must purchase travel protection insurance immediately to obtain  maximum insurance coverage.

• I decline travel protection insurance coverage and fully understand the cancellation policies and possible losses that can occur without adequate protection.  Furthermore, I understand this waiver must be received by MedTreks no later than thirty (30) days prior to the commencement of my trip and neglecting to do so will result in forfeit of all monies paid.

• I elect to purchase travel protection insurance through Travelex or an insurer of my choosing.
