What Are MedTreks Retreats Like?
Wellness Retreats for Medical Professionals
Are MedTreks retreats more about wellness or adventure?
They’re designed to balance both. We design our retreats to include movement, time outdoors, good food, and space to slow down. Some guests come ready to surf, hike, paddle, or join every activity. Others want more rest, reflection, and quiet time by the ocean or pool. Both approaches fit naturally into the experience!
Do I need to do everything on the itinerary?
Not at all. In fact, we design our retreats to be flexible. You can join as much or as little as you’d like. The structure is there to support you, not pressure you.
What does a typical day feel like?
Most days have a natural rhythm: movement in the morning, good meals, optional activities, and time to rest in between. Some days feel more active, while others are slower. Overall, we keep the pace steady and well-supported rather than packed or rushed.
Are these retreats actually restorative?
That’s the goal. Healthcare is demanding, and time away needs to feel like real time away. For that reason, we build in space to breathe, sleep well, eat nourishing meals, spend time outside, and reconnect with yourself in a setting that feels calm and well cared for.
What makes a MedTreks retreat different from a typical group trip?
Our retreats are high-touch and intentionally small. We work with trusted local partners, choose accommodations carefully, and stay closely involved before, during, and after the trip. We keep the experience personal, well-supported, and easy to step into.
Will I feel out of place if I come solo?
Not at all. And actually, many guests join on their own! Our retreats attract open, curious people who enjoy travel, learning, and being outside. So, there’s usually a nice balance of shared experience and personal space.
Do I need to be very fit or experienced?
No. Activity levels vary by retreat, and many are designed to be accessible to a range of energy levels and interests. That said, you do not need to be an experienced surfer, yogi, or athlete to enjoy them. We’re always happy to help you decide if a retreat feels like a good fit.
Is CME the main focus?
No. We design the retreat as a vacation first. CME is available on many trips, but we integrate it into the experience in a way that feels practical and natural rather than taking over the trip.
